Southwest Drift Series Round 3 – May 30, 2015

It’s been a while since we’ve been to a Vegas Drift event in the parking lot of Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The last time we hooked up with Vegas Drift that wasn’t on the outside road course, or Phoenix, was when we rolled out for Vegas ProAm Round 3 back in 2012. Needless to say, we were pretty excited to revisit the old school venue that we haven’t seen for a very long time.

Southwest Drift Series Round 1 – Event Recap and Gallery

With a vision of expanding their Formula Drift Pro Am licensing program, Vegas Drift has created the Southwest Drift Series, which gives many inspiring grassroots drivers across the Southwest the opportunity experience what competition is all about. With future events scheduled in Colorado, Vegas, and New Mexico, Round 1 of the Southwest Drift Series came to a successful conclusion this past Valentine’s Day at Wild Horse Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona.

Hella NorCal – Joe Tardiff

Joe Tardiff is a man amongst men. It was Top Drift round 3 when I met him, and from then, on it has been great knowing him. Whenever I see him, he’s never upset. Not once have I seen the guy get mad at anything at the track. Calm. Cool. Collected. Smiles. These are only a few of the many words that come to mind when I think of him. I had the opportunity to get a quick interview with Joe on his lunch break, and I must say that it was a pleasure.

Vegas ProAm – Season Recap & Round 5 – September 20, 2014

The 2014 Vegas ProAm competition season is officially over. Last weekend, we hit the road to Las Vegas Motor Speedway and joined Vegas Drift for round 5, which sealed the standings and fates of drivers who competed all year long. Coming into round 5, the season champion had already been decided by points, but everything beyond that was up for grabs.

Vegas ProAm Round 4 – May 31, 2014

Vegas ProAm has held 2 of their rounds on the outside road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this year. At this track, there’s not much one can do about the layout to keep the action close to the spectators and pits, except run the previous competition course backwards. Round 4 Vegas ProAm was an exception, because LVMS had repaved the entire track just days before drifting was scheduled. This gave Nick Dizon of Vegas Drift an opportunity to throw routine out the window, and design a layout that was guaranteed to make drivers reconsider their style and techniques.
